Course overview
Integrated Product Development is a unique course on campus, focusing on team-based integrated product development among engineering, business, and design disciplines. Over the course of a semester, cross-functional student teams (including students from GSIA, engineering, and industrial design) will develop a product from idea to prototype. The course consists of four modules including identifying, understanding, conceptualizing and introducing a product opportunity. Students will work closely with faculty, learning about and applying product design, marketing, and teamwork skills. Teams will design a product for a corporate client that fits within the companyis product domains and that respond to the needs of a specific market segment. The corporate client will serve as both sponsors and clients in the course, and will be actively involved throughout the semester.
